Abstract

The article focuses on the development and assessment of African star seed oil as a cutting fluid in turning AA6061 aluminum alloy. Using the Taguchi grey relational approach, the study aims to optimize cutting parameters such as feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut to reduce surface roughness and cutting temperature. The physicochemical properties of African star seed oil are investigated, and the results are compared with those of mineral oil and dry machining. The study highlights the potential of African star seed oil as a sustainable and effective cutting fluid, making it a valuable contribution to the field of sustainable manufacturing and machining processes.
