Abstract

The article introduces a novel approach for designing a Current-Starved Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (CSVCO) using the Multi-objective Salp Swarm Algorithm (MSSA). The study focuses on optimizing six critical performance parameters: oscillation frequency, dynamic power dissipation, phase noise, area, tuning range, and figure of merit (FOM). The MSSA is chosen for its efficiency in handling multi-objective optimization problems, and the results show significant improvements in phase noise, tuning range, and FOM compared to other optimization techniques. The methodology is validated through extensive simulations and comparisons with state-of-the-art approaches, highlighting the potential of MSSA in designing high-performance analog circuits.
