This chapter delves into the innovative utilization of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for Facility Management (FM) by creating a BIM model that can quickly start an FM database and be used in Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) applications. The study focuses on the development of a BIM model from a laser scanner survey and the integration of complex machinery models into this BIM environment. The case study, conducted at the FEHST Components Group facility in Braga, Portugal, showcases the practical application of these technologies, highlighting the potential for enhanced maintenance activities and training through VR/AR simulations.
