Abstract

The article delves into the development of fully bio-based composites using jute and hemp fibers reinforced with bio-epoxy, addressing the need for sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. The study focuses on the influence of stacking sequences on the fatigue, thermo-mechanical, vibrational, and viscoelastic behaviors of these composites. Through dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) in both single and dual cantilever modes, the research captures detailed frequency- and temperature-dependent responses, supplemented by Cole–Cole plot interpretation, fatigue testing, thermo-mechanical evaluation, and vibrational analysis. The findings reveal that composites with high-strength fibers in the skin layers exhibit enhanced modulus and intermediate toughness, making them suitable for applications requiring both stiffness and energy dissipation. The article also highlights the practical potential of these composites by demonstrating the fabrication of a bicycle mudguard, showcasing their application in sports equipment. The study's comprehensive approach and practical application make it a significant contribution to the field of sustainable materials science.
