Currently, by far the largest share of CO 2 emissions in transport is caused by long-haul and heavy-duty vehicles with long range and/or high performance requirements. For decarbonization in these vehicles, the H 2 engine represents an effective and complementary technology to the fuel cell. To achieve the same robustness and functionality as diesel engines, Mahle is pushing ahead with the development of H 2-specific engine components. …
