Abstract

The article presents the development and optimization of ZTO/Ag/ZTO transparent electrodes for thin film solar cells. Transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) are crucial for various applications, including solar cells, where they must meet specific criteria such as low sheet resistance and high visible light transmittance. The study focuses on the optimization of geometrical parameters like the thickness of thin films and the position of the Ag layer within the multilayer. Using DC magnetron sputtering, the researchers achieved high performance ZTO/Ag/ZTO electrodes with improved electrical and optical properties. The optical transmittance and sheet resistance were optimized to achieve a high figure of merit (FoM), making these electrodes promising candidates for solar cell applications. The article also compares the performance of ZTO/Ag/ZTO electrodes with ITO and AZO thin films, demonstrating their potential as a better choice for thin film solar cells.
