Abstract

This chapter delves into the application of deep learning techniques for the early detection and classification of diabetic retinopathy, a leading cause of blindness. It explores various deep learning models, including DenseNet-121, Inception v3, and Inception-ResNet-v2, and their performance in diagnosing the disease. The text highlights the importance of preprocessing techniques such as Gaussian blur, cropping, and data augmentation to enhance model accuracy. Additionally, it discusses the integration of the AES algorithm for secure data encryption, ensuring patient privacy in a web-based application. The study concludes that ensembling multiple models significantly improves diagnostic accuracy and reduces error rates, making it a valuable tool for early diabetic retinopathy detection.
