Zusammenfassung

Dass in der Überschrift dieses Kapitels nicht von Distributions-, sondern von Versorgungssystemen gesprochen wird, hat einen einfachen Grund. Für den Handel als Absatzmittler sind die Beschaffungsaktivitäten von Prozessen in der Distribution oft kaum zu trennen. In bestandslosen Versorgungssystemen wie dem gleich ausführlicher beschriebenen Cross-Docking-Konzept geschieht beides sogar in einem Prozess. Außerdem hat der Handel mangels Produktion von je her im Einkauf eine strategisch bedeutsame, für den Geschäftserfolg kritische Funktion gesehen.
