Zusammenfassung

In der Darstellung der Energiewende dominiert das Narrativ soziotechnischer Innovation: Die Gesellschaft entwickelt Umsetzungswege, auf deren Grundlage ein Wandel in Richtung Nachhaltigkeit möglich ist. Diese einseitige Konzentration auf das technische Erneuern verschleiert jedoch, dass mit der Einführung neuer Technologien stets eine grundsätzliche gesellschaftliche Entscheidung über die bis dahin genutzten Praktiken und Strukturen aussteht. Solche Prozesse werden in der Literatur über Exnovation genannt.
