Zusammenfassung

Am 4. Mai 2016 gab die Europäische Zentralbank bekannt, die Produktion und Ausgabe der 500-€-Banknote gegen Ende des Jahres 2018 einzustellen. Damit werden lediglich die 5 €, die 10 €, die 20 €, die 50 €, die 100 € sowie die 200 €-Banknoten der sogenannten Europa-Serie (die seit 2013 schrittweise die erste Serie von Euro-Banknoten ablöst) in Umlauf gebracht.
