Abstract

The chapter delves into the digital control of a vane pump, an essential component in hydraulic systems, focusing on its ability to adapt parameters to current demands. It introduces an integrated electro-hydraulic vane pump (IEHVP) with a controller based on internal sensor signals, highlighting its advantages such as compact design, low noise, and good dynamic properties. The study includes a detailed numerical model developed in Matlab/Simulink, which simulates pump flow rate and pressure control based on real-time demand information. The model is validated through laboratory experiments on a test bench equipped with a variable-displacement vane pump and an integrated control system. The chapter also explores the working principle of the vane pump, including mathematical models and operational parameters, and presents case studies demonstrating the pump's performance under varying conditions. The results show that the proposed solution offers high accuracy, repeatability, and the ability to control system start-up smoothly, making it particularly valuable for systems requiring precise and rapid adjustments.
