Abstract

The article introduces an advanced direct torque control (DTC) method for three-phase asynchronous motors, leveraging sliding mode control (SMC) and radial basis function networks (RBFN). The technique aims to address the challenges of torque and current harmonics, common in traditional DTC methods. By employing SMC, the control system becomes more robust and adaptive, capable of quickly altering torque and flux without coordinate transformations. The use of RBFN for flux and torque estimation further enhances the system's performance. The proposed method is validated through simulation and experimental studies, demonstrating significant reductions in harmonics and improved control accuracy. The article also discusses the design of a third-order cascade inverter with frequency-modulated carrier wave, which contributes to reducing harmonic distortion and enhancing the durability of the control system. Overall, the research highlights the potential of combining advanced control techniques with intelligent algorithms to improve the efficiency and reliability of induction motor control systems.
