Abstract

The chapter delves into the intricate challenges of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems in large organizations, focusing on data ingestion, processing, and application. It highlights issues such as data quality, integration and interoperability, and the alignment of SIEM systems with business contexts. Through a Delphi study, the research identifies and prioritizes these challenges, providing valuable insights into the real-world obstacles faced by cybersecurity professionals. The study also extends the 3U’s model of human-centric cybersecurity, adding AI as a fourth component, and offers practical recommendations for improving SIEM system adoption and effectiveness in large organizational settings.
