Abstract

This chapter delves into the displacement analysis of CDM retaining walls in the context of the Riviera Point Residential and Commercial Complex in Ho Chi Minh City. The study focuses on the project's geotechnical conditions, the implementation of CDM columns for retaining walls, and the ground improvement techniques used. Key topics include the geological description of the site, the layout and monitoring of CDM walls, and the mechanical properties of CDM materials. The research employs three-dimensional finite element analysis to compare field observations with FEM predictions, highlighting the influence of CDM replacement ratios on wall displacement. The results indicate that while FEM models capture general displacement trends, simplifications in modeling can lead to discrepancies in magnitude. The study concludes that an optimized balance between CDM density and layout is crucial for effective performance and minimizing unintended wall movements. This detailed analysis provides valuable insights for professionals involved in similar projects, emphasizing the importance of precise modeling and monitoring in achieving successful outcomes.
