Abstract

This study delves into the development and testing of a distributed air-conditioning system designed specifically for electric vehicles. The research focuses on four key areas: the innovative perception architecture for passenger detection, the novel control model for compressor management, the integration with battery cooling systems, and the empirical results demonstrating significant energy savings. The study introduces a vision-infrared fusion perception architecture that achieves high accuracy in passenger detection, enabling precise cooling demand prediction. A novel dual-factor PWM control model is presented, which integrates real-time occupant density ratio and thermal feedback to calculate compressor duty cycles, thereby enhancing energy efficiency. The research also explores the integration of the air-conditioning system with battery cooling systems, showcasing a comprehensive approach to thermal management. Empirical results demonstrate an unprecedented 83.6% energy saving breakthrough, significantly surpassing previous energy-saving achievements in the field. The study concludes with insights into the broader applications of this technology and future research directions aimed at further enhancing energy-saving capabilities in electric vehicle air conditioning.
