Abstract

This study delves into the distribution behavior of nickel between liquid copper and CaO–SiO2–FeO–MgO slag, a critical aspect of copper recycling. The research focuses on four key areas: the influence of slag composition, the impact of temperature, the role of oxygen partial pressure, and the proposal of an optimal slag system. Experimental results demonstrate that the distribution ratio of nickel varies significantly with changes in slag basicity, showing amphoteric behavior. The study also reveals that higher temperatures and specific slag compositions can enhance nickel dissolution. The findings suggest that by carefully controlling these factors, it is possible to improve the efficiency of nickel removal from copper, thereby optimizing the recycling process. This research provides valuable insights for professionals seeking to enhance the sustainability and economic viability of copper recycling.
