Abstract

This study delves into the diversity and ecological functions of microbial communities in soils subjected to varying degrees of industrial impact within the Meshchera Lowland. By analyzing both prokaryotic and fungal components, the research identifies significant differences in taxonomic richness and diversity between technogenic sites and background areas. The study highlights the dominance of Actinomycetota and Pseudomonadota among prokaryotes, and Ascomycota and Basidiomycota among fungi, with notable variations in their relative abundances across different phytocenoses. The research also predicts the metabolic and ecological functions of these microbial communities using advanced algorithms, revealing distinct functional profiles. The findings underscore the impact of industrial activities on soil microbiomes and their ecological roles, providing valuable insights for environmental monitoring and bioremediation strategies.
