Deutz has signed a participation agreement with HJS Emission Technology. The latter's exhaust-gas aftertreatment systems are designed to make combustion engines cleaner.

Deutz is acquiring 50 % of the shares in the family-owned company HJS Emission Technology. Both sides had signed a participation agreement at the end of November. The closing is expected to take place at the beginning of 2025 after merger control approval has been obtained. The supplier is to be integrated into the Deutz group, and the management team led by Robin Trompetter, CEO of HJS Emission Technology, is to remain in place. HJS Emission Technology has around 300 employees and develops, manufactures and markets electrical and mechanical components for reducing pollutant emissions.

In the future, Deutz would like to purchase a large proportion of the components and systems required for exhaust gas aftertreatment for selected engine series from HJS Emission Technology. "The combustion engine is not a discontinued technology. This is certainly true for applications where machines are constantly in use and move large loads. The technology will therefore continue to be of strategic importance to us in the future", says DEUTZ CEO Dr. Sebastian C. Schulte. By investing in the supplier, the commercial vehicle engine manufacturer is strengthening its expertise in the field of exhaust aftertreatment.
