Abstract

The article delves into the dynamic performance analysis of DC-DC boost converters integrated with voltage multiplier cells (VMCs) for high voltage gain and voltage regulation. It highlights the challenges and benefits of using VMCs in non-isolated converters, particularly for portable electronic equipment and industrial applications. The study focuses on the impact of increasing the number of VMC stages on closed-loop performance, addressing issues such as voltage regulation under load and input voltage disturbances. The authors propose a new high voltage gain DC-DC converter with VMCs and analyze its performance using traditional controllers like two-loop and feed-forward plus feedback (FFFB) control strategies. The research includes both simulation and experimental results, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies in maintaining stable output voltage levels under varying conditions. The study concludes by emphasizing the trade-offs in choosing the number of VMC stages for optimal closed-loop performance, providing valuable insights for further advancements in the field of power electronics.
