Abstract

The article introduces a novel method for constructing Entanglement-Assisted Quantum Error Correction (EAQEC) codes using the intersection of two distinct constacyclic codes over finite fields. Building on the theory of quantum codes and the CSS construction, the authors propose a formula to calculate the number of pre-shared maximally entangled states needed for EAQEC codes. This formula is derived from the intersection dimension of the constacyclic codes and is used to construct new EAQEC codes with improved parameters. The paper provides a detailed explanation of the mathematical foundations and presents examples of EAQEC codes constructed using cyclic and w-constacyclic codes. The results demonstrate that the new EAQEC codes have larger dimensions and minimum distances compared to previously known codes, highlighting the potential of this method for advancing quantum error correction in quantum computing.
