Excerpt

EDUsummIT is a vibrant global community dedicated to harnessing the potential of Information Technology (IT) in education. It brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to share perspectives and collaborate on effective IT uses in education. The community was established following the International Handbook of Information Technology in Primary and Secondary Education and has held biennial meetings since 2009. The 2023 summit in Kyoto focused on themes such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), special needs, inclusion, and teacher professional development. Notably, the summit culminated in a call to action aimed at prioritizing the well-being of young people and teachers in the digital era, encouraging the ethical and meaningful use of digital technologies in education. The article provides insights into the community's working groups, discussions, and the impact of their collaborative efforts on educational practices, research, and policies worldwide.
