Abstract

The study investigates the effect of block caving mining on the permeability characteristics of fractured rock mass, highlighting the significant disturbance caused by this mining method. It focuses on the changes in fracture parameters such as density, trace length, and aperture, and how these alterations impact the hydraulic properties of the surrounding rock mass. The research utilizes a Monte Carlo method to generate DFNs and conduct seepage simulations, allowing for a detailed analysis of the REV and permeability tensor. The article also presents a case study of a copper mine in Yunan province, demonstrating the practical application of the method and its accuracy in predicting permeability changes due to mining activities.
