Abstract

The article delves into the impact of pile driving on ground vibration in clay soil, combining experimental and numerical approaches. It examines the propagation and attenuation of vibrations caused by different pile sizes and soil properties, highlighting the significance of peak particle velocity (PPV) in predicting and mitigating disturbances. The study compares experimental data with numerical simulations, validating the accuracy of the Mohr–Coulomb model in PLAXIS software. Notably, it includes sensitivity analyses on elastic modulus, friction angle, and pile diameter, providing insights into the factors influencing ground vibration levels. The research underscores the importance of accurate prediction and mitigation strategies to protect adjacent structures and residents from potential damage.
