Abstract

The article investigates the impact of Sr-doping on the physical and photoluminescence properties of SnO2 thin films, a versatile material in optoelectronics. By employing the sol–gel spin coating method, the researchers synthesized pure and Sr-doped SnO2 thin films and examined their structural, optical, and electrical properties. The study reveals that Sr-doping significantly affects the crystalline size, surface roughness, and optical transmittance of the films. Notably, the photoluminescence properties are enhanced with Sr-doping due to increased oxygen vacancies, leading to a stronger green emission peak. These findings suggest that Sr-doped SnO2 thin films hold promise for applications in optoelectronic devices, such as transparent conducting electrodes in solar cells and LEDs.
