Abstract

The article delves into the effects of surface treatment on the enhancement of thermal and mechanical properties of aramid-MWCNT composites. It introduces the use of aliphatic and aromatic silane agents for chemical bonding, which significantly improves the performance of these composites compared to physically associated systems. The study compares the impact of these silane agents on interfacial bonding, thermal stability, and mechanical strength, showcasing the superiority of aromatic silane in achieving higher thermal stability and tensile strength. The research also highlights the importance of uniform dispersion of MWCNTs in the aramid matrix and the role of silanization in enhancing interfacial interactions. Through various characterization techniques such as FTIR, XPS, and SEM, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of silanization in improving the overall properties of the composites. The findings have significant implications for the development of high-performance polymer nanocomposites in industries such as automotive and aerospace.
