Abstract

The wetting of lead-silicate glasses S87-2 and S78-4 by a 0.2 N HCl solution and spreading of the solution over the glass surfaces before and after their thermo-hydrogen reduction was studied. It was shown that thermo-hydrogen reduction improves the interaction of glass with acid solutions. The results are explained by the appearance of lead on the surface of the studied glasses and the dewatering of the glass during thermo-hydrogen reduction of lead-silicate glasses.
