Abstract

The study focuses on the wear resistance of FeCoNiAlTi coatings on X70 pipeline steel, with a particular emphasis on the addition of tungsten carbide (WC) particles. The authors employ laser cladding to fabricate coatings with varying proportions of WC particles, aiming to enhance the wear resistance of the pipeline steel. The microstructural evolution and strengthening mechanisms of the coatings are analyzed in detail, with a comparative assessment of the wear resistance of the coatings with and without WC particles. The results demonstrate the potential of high-entropy alloys in improving the wear performance of pipeline steels, offering insights into the design and application of wear-resistant coatings in the oil and gas industry.
