Abstract

The study investigates the effect of Zn content on the mechanical properties, damping capacity, and intergranular corrosion of Al-Mg-Zn-Sc alloys. It delves into the microstructural changes induced by different processing paths, including hot rolling, cold rolling, and heat treatment. The findings reveal that Zn addition refines the grain structure, enhances mechanical strength, and improves damping capacity. However, it also increases intergranular corrosion susceptibility. The article highlights the complex interplay between processing methods, microstructure, and performance, offering valuable insights for optimizing the properties of these alloys for various industrial applications.
