Abstract

The study investigates the impact of gradient temperature fields on the internal quality of casting ingots, focusing on the healing of internal cracks. It compares the effectiveness of different surface temperatures during the HTRP process and employs advanced simulations to analyze defect healing mechanisms. The results show that a surface temperature of 950°C offers the best internal quality, balancing strain penetration, atomic diffusion, and grain refinement. The research highlights the importance of considering these factors together to achieve optimal defect healing in casting ingots.
