Abstract

The study investigates the effectiveness of preheating and alkaline roasting as pretreatments for enhancing gangue removal during alkaline hydrothermal treatment of low-grade iron ores. It explores the impact of dehydration through preheating on the porosity and gangue removal efficiency of iron ores containing α-FeOOH. Additionally, it evaluates the effects of alkaline roasting and subsequent alkaline hydrothermal treatment on gangue removal from high-phosphorus ore. The research aims to address the challenges of uncertain resources, high energy consumption, and elevated CO2 emissions in the steel industry by developing more efficient and environmentally friendly iron ore refining processes.
