Abstract

The article investigates the impact of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) on pressure drop and net driving pressure in different designs of brackish and seawater reverse osmosis (RO) systems. It discusses how TDS affects membrane fouling, energy consumption, and the overall efficiency of desalination plants. The study compares various RO system designs and evaluates their performance under different TDS conditions. By examining the effects of TDS on operational parameters, the article provides valuable insights for optimizing the design and operation of RO systems, contributing to the development of more efficient and reliable desalination technologies.
