Abstract

The study investigates the effectiveness of green synthesized silver nanomaterials (AgNMs) derived from medicinal plants against early blight of tomato caused by Alternaria solani. Traditional management strategies for this devastating disease have shown limited effectiveness, prompting the need for alternative solutions. The research focuses on the impact of AgNMs on antioxidant activity, photosynthetic pigments, and yield-related traits in infected tomato plants. By examining the biochemical profile of treated plants, the study reveals significant improvements in plant growth and disease resistance. The use of secondary metabolites from wild gourd and rough cocklebur for nanomaterial synthesis is a novel approach, offering a sustainable and efficient method for plant disease management. The findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the application of nanotechnology in agriculture, presenting a promising avenue for enhancing crop resilience.
