Abstract

Dies ist eine Einführung für Laien. Anhand von geotechnischen Schäden wird gezeigt, was die Geotechnik zu vermeiden hilft. Ferner wird die Geschichte der Geotechnik dargestellt, und die wichtigsten Forscher auf diesem Gebiet werden vorgestellt. Anwendungen der Geotechnik werden kurz dargestellt und die wesentlichen Züge des mechanischen Verhaltens des Bodens erläutert. Die verwendeten Methoden der Bodenmechanik werden kurz angesprochen, und die Vielfalt in der Geotechnik sowie die Schnittstellen zu anderen Disziplinen werden angesprochen.
