Zusammenfassung

Building Information Modeling (BMI) basiert auf der Idee einer durchgängigen Nutzung eines digitalen Gebäudemodells über den gesamten Lebenszyklus eines Bauwerks – vom Entwurf, über die Planung und Ausführung bis zum Betrieb des Gebäudes. Sie geht einher mit dem Ge-danken eines deutlich verbesserten Datenaustauschs und der dadurch erzielbaren Steigerung der Planungseffizienz durch Wegfall der aufwändigen und fehleranfälligen Wiedereingabe von Informationen. Dank der Verfügbarkeit von modernen Softwarewerkzeugen steht der Um-setzung dieser Vision in der Planungspraxis aus technischer Sicht heute nichts mehr im Wege. Während einzelne, besonders innovative Planungsbüros und Baufirmen BMI bereits konsequent einsetzen, steht in Deutschland die flächendeckende Einführung noch bevor. Eine maßgebliche Rolle kommt dabei der öffentlichen Hand zu, die in vielen anderen Ländern die Nutzung von BIM in der Bauplanung bereits verbindlich vorgeschrieben hat.
