Schaeffler showcased new heavy-duty motors at Bauma 2025. The 800 V electric motor series for electric and hybrid drive systems will be available in three variants.

Schaeffler presented series-ready electric motors for commercial vehicles at Bauma in Munich. The modular motor series consists of three variants with maximum outputs of 125 (170 hp), 299 (407 hp), and 315 kW (428 hp), which differ only in the length of the active part. With a total length of 151, 206, and 261 mm and a uniform outer diameter of around 239 mm (stator package diameter) or 280 mm (including screw connection), the motors are designed to require very little installation space.

The stator windings are designed as flat wire wave windings (continuous hairpin technology, also known as wave winding). Thanks to their design, they are capable of achieving high torques, a power-to-weight ratio of 5 to 7 kW/kg, and efficiencies of over 97 % in a speed range from 3,000 to 8,000 rpm. In addition, ceramic balls are designed to reduce bearing friction and prevent harmful current passages. At the commercial vehicle trade fair in Munich, the supplier has showcased a complete electric axle with an integrated new heavy-duty eMotor.
