Volkswagen has revised the ID.4 and ID.5 models. In addition to the new operating concept, the Pro and GTX versions get the MEB rear-axle drive APP550.

The most important new technology feature of all ID.4 and ID.5 with 77 kWh battery (net) is the MEB rear-axle drive APP550. The ID.4 Pro and ID.5 Pro models now feature a more powerful e-motor with 210 kW (286 hp) output, offering a maximum torque of 545 Nm. The ID.4 Pro 4Motion also develops a system output of 210 kW (286 hp) with the new rear e-motor and an additional e-motor on the front axle. The dual-engine ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX models also get the new rear e-machine, offering a system output of 250 kW (340 hp). They accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 s and, like the Pro models, are electronically limited at 180 km/h.

The range of the models with the new 77 kWh battery is increasing, with the new ID.4 Pro reaching up to 550 km according to WLTP; up to 556 km for the new ID.5 Pro. The rear-wheel-drive ID.4 and ID.5 models charge at 135 kW, while the all-wheel-drive models offer DC charging power increased to up to 175 kW. The basic ID.4 Pure version with 52 kWh battery is now offered with a charging capacity of up to 115 kW.

Illuminated Touchsliders Now Also in the VW ID.4 and ID.5

Volkswagen's e-cars also get new and faster software. The infotainment system now offers a 12.9" touchscreen, on which a new menu structure can be seen. The Digital Cockpit and the optional augmented reality head-up display have also been revised. The touchsliders for climate and volume control are now illuminated, the gear selector lever is designed as a steering column lever, and the multifunction steering wheel offers new operating logic.
