The Nissan e-NV200 Gets 40 kWh Battery

At an event in Oslo, Norway, Japanese car maker Nissan announced that its all-electric e-NV200 van will come with a new 40 kWh battery.

The Nissan e-NV200 will go further with the new 40 kWh battery, which will extend the electric van’s range by more than 60 percent according to Nissan. Up to 280 kilometres (based on the New European Driving Cycle) of driving should be possible on one charge in future.

No compromise in load space or payload

The high-voltage battery’s size and weight will remain unchanged, and hence the van’s load space and payload. The almost doubled battery capacity could allow customers to drive over 100 kilometres further than before on one charge. "With its longer range and excellent cargo capacity, the new e-NV200 is the perfect last mile delivery solution for urban deliveries and collections", explains Gareth Dunsmore, Electric Vehicle Director, Nissan Europe.

From year-end, the Nissan e-NV200 equipped with 40 kWh battery can be ordered as a van or as a people carrier in Combi or Evalia versions; the market launch in Europe is slated for April 2018.
