British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover has presented its Reimagine strategy. Among other things, it aims to offer every model series with a purely electric drive by 2030.

With “Reimagine,” Jaguar Land Rover is looking to reposition itself and invest 2.8 billion euros annually in electrification and the development of connected services. The British carmaker is thus launching its transformation into a provider of electric vehicles based on different architectures depending on the brand. In the process, the entire portfolio is to be streamlined and reorganized. By 2030, Jaguar Land Rover plans to offer every model series with purely electric drives. Fuel cell drive is also part of the electrification strategy. The first prototypes are soon to roll out onto British roads for testing.

According to the plan, Jaguar will become a purely electric luxury carmaker by 2025. The new electric vehicles will be based on a stand-alone platform. The electric-powered Jaguar XJ, which is still in the testing phase, will not be developed further. Nevertheless, there could be a model named Jaguar XJ in the future.

Six new electric models at Land Rover

The Land Rover off-roader and SUV brand plans to continue with the three model families Range Rover, Discovery and Defender. New Land Rover models will be based on the new Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) and Electric Modular Architecture (EMA). An all-electric vehicle is scheduled for launch in 2024, and a total of six new all-electric models are expected to be launched by Land Rover over the next five years.

All Jaguar Land Rover plants are to be retained. In addition, the aim is to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions in production, locations and the supply chain by 2039.
