Abstract

The article delves into the electrodeposition of Bi2Te3 thin films for thermoelectric applications, focusing on the impact of electrolyte pH on material properties. The study reveals that pH significantly influences the rate of redox reactions, affecting the deposition of various phases and, consequently, the thermal and electrical conductivities of the material. Through detailed experimental procedures, the authors demonstrate that optimizing pH can lead to improved thermoelectric performance, with sample P2 showing superior properties compared to traditional materials like Si and Ge. The findings suggest that further optimization of reaction parameters could open new avenues for studying complex or multi-composite materials for various applications.
