Abstract

The article delves into the electronic and optical properties of TMDs/Hg0.33Cd0.66Te heterostructures, focusing on their potential applications in optoelectronics and photovoltaics. Using density functional theory, the study examines the band structure, dielectric constant, and absorption coefficient of various TMDs combined with Hg0.33Cd0.66Te. The results indicate that these heterostructures exhibit enhanced optical absorption, particularly in the infrared spectrum, making them promising for solar cell applications. The research also highlights the potential of these heterostructures in improving the efficiency of solar cells and infrared detectors, offering a deeper understanding of their optical and electronic properties.
