Abstract

The article delves into the electrothermal damage analysis of overhead ground wire (OGW) at the terminal of armor rods (TAR) under short-circuit current. Traditional methods overlook the coupling effect of electromagnetic force (FE) with contact regions, leading to inaccuracies in damage assessment. The study introduces an elliptical conductive bridge model that incorporates FE, improving the accuracy of damage evaluation. The model is validated through experiments, demonstrating that neglecting FE underestimates damage, while ignoring the coupling effect overestimates it. The enhanced model offers a precise tool for assessing electrothermal damage in OGW systems.
