Abstract

The article delves into the phenomenon of emotion spreading facilitated by emojis on social media platforms. It introduces the S3I model, which extends the classical SI model to account for the complex dynamics of emotional contagion. The study examines the impact of individual emotional indices, emoji attributes, flock effects, and credibility on the spread of emotions. Through simulation experiments and real-world data analysis, the authors demonstrate that negative emotions tend to spread more rapidly and extensively, highlighting the significance of understanding emotional dynamics in social networks. The article concludes with practical implications for controlling and mitigating the spread of undesirable emotions online.
