Energy Efficient Area Coverage Mechanisms for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Abstract

Mobile ad hoc networks does not have fixed infrastructure and nodes are dynamically formed different network topologies. These nodes are establishing communication through wireless links. The energy is a vital parameter for this network, as battery life decides the overall working of the network. Failure of one node not only affects itself but also the performance of the entire network. Since all the nodes are battery power therefore energy depletion is one of the major issues to the lifetime of the network. In this paper we propose a back up node for area coverage of the Ad hoc network that enhanced the proper use of energy by reducing the communication with the help of triangulation technique. Therefore, the use of battery power will be minimized which results in increasing the lifetime and better connectivity of the network.
