Abstract

The article introduces an innovative energy storage configuration and scheduling strategy for microgrids, focusing on enhancing system stability and efficiency through grid-forming capabilities. It addresses the challenges posed by the integration of renewable energy sources and the need for flexible power dispatch. The strategy incorporates advanced control methods, such as the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control, and utilizes kernel density estimation and Copula functions for uncertainty modeling. The proposed method aims to optimize energy storage capacity and power, considering investment and operational costs, inertia support, and reserved power constraints. The effectiveness of the strategy is validated through various simulation cases, demonstrating its potential to improve system performance and reliability under different operational scenarios.
