Abstract

The study presents a detailed investigation into the synthesis and characterization of N-doped TiO2 with a mixed anatase-rutile phase using a simple sol-gel method. The authors explore the enhanced dielectric properties and photocatalytic activity of the synthesized TiO2, demonstrating its potential for environmental applications such as dye degradation. The article highlights the significant improvements in surface area, crystallinity, and band gap energy due to nitrogen doping and the mixed-phase structure. Furthermore, the study provides insights into the mechanisms of electron-hole pair recombination and the influence of surface properties on photocatalytic efficiency. The findings underscore the potential of N-doped TiO2 as a highly effective photocatalyst for various environmental applications.
