Abstract

This study delves into the enhancement of interfacial SiC generation reactions in MG-Si smelting through the addition of K2CO3. The research focuses on the structural evolution of bituminous coal, revealing significant improvements in pore structure, molecular configuration, and surface chemistry. Key findings include a 173% increase in Si elemental diffusion depth and a 9% boost in SiC yield. The study also highlights the optimization of the pore structure, with a notable increase in specific surface area and pore volume, and the improvement of the molecular structure, leading to a more disordered and loose carbon matrix. These enhancements collectively contribute to a more efficient and sustainable MG-Si smelting process, offering valuable insights for professionals in the field.
