Abstract

The article explores the enhancement of distribution networks in the presence of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) and distributed generation (DG). It discusses the challenges posed by high oil costs and the growth of electric vehicles, highlighting the need for a diverse energy arrangement. The study focuses on the optimization of total active and reactive power loss, voltage profile, and voltage stability index in unbalanced radial distribution systems (URDS). The integration of DG with various power factors is analyzed, and a novel meta-heuristic technique, Transient Search Optimization (TSO), is applied to address the optimization problems. The results demonstrate significant improvements in power loss, voltage profile, and voltage stability, providing valuable insights for URDS operators in planning the placement of EVCS and DG.
