Enhancing Governance: How Secure Internet Servers Drive Anti-corruption and Strengthen Government Effectiveness

This chapter delves into the critical role of Secure Internet Servers (SIS) in enhancing governance and combating corruption. It explores the dynamic relationships between SIS, government effectiveness, and control of corruption, highlighting the importance of secure digital infrastructures in modern governance. The study employs advanced econometric techniques, including Vector Error Correction Models (VECM), to analyze the causal relationships between these variables. The findings reveal that while SIS does not directly cause government effectiveness, it significantly impacts control of corruption in both the short and long run. The chapter also emphasizes the bidirectional relationship between governance quality and digital security infrastructure, underscoring the need for complementary institutional reforms to maximize the benefits of ICT investments. Additionally, the chapter discusses the importance of continuous monitoring, intrusion detection, and prevention systems to protect sensitive information and ensure the security and resilience of these systems.
