Abstract

The article addresses the critical need for accurate and continuous monitoring of cardiovascular diseases, which remain the leading cause of mortality worldwide. It focuses on the enhancement of phonocardiogram (PCG) signal quality, which is essential for evaluating cardiac function and diagnosing heart conditions. The study introduces a novel approach that combines a cascaded adaptive noise canceller (ANC) with the greater cane rat algorithm (GCRA) to significantly reduce various types of noise, including uniform noise, Gaussian noise, and pink noise, from PCG signals. This method dynamically adjusts filter parameters to preserve the integrity of the original signals, making it highly effective in improving the accuracy of cardiac monitoring and diagnostics. The article also includes a comprehensive evaluation of the proposed method against existing techniques, demonstrating its superior performance across multiple metrics. Additionally, the practical applicability of the GCRA-based noise removal technique is validated through a deep learning model that distinguishes between normal and abnormal PCG signals, highlighting its potential to revolutionize cardiac diagnostics.
