Abstract

The article presents a groundbreaking method for enhancing sensorless control in Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs) using an Instantaneous Direct Torque Control (IDTC) technique with a Modified Genetic Algorithm Optimized-Cascaded Artificial Neural Network (MGA-CANN) controller. The study addresses the critical issue of torque ripple in SRMs, which can lead to vibrations and reduced motor lifespan. By implementing the MGA-CANN controller, the research demonstrates a significant reduction in torque ripple, leading to smoother motor operation and improved efficiency. The proposed system eliminates the need for external sensors, simplifying the control mechanisms and reducing costs. The article also compares the performance of the MGA-CANN approach with other control methods, highlighting its superiority in minimizing torque ripple and enhancing overall motor performance. The research offers valuable insights into the application of advanced control strategies in SRMs, making it a crucial read for professionals in the field of motor control and power electronics.
